In Newcastle, this injury is famously referred to as the "Kalyn Ponga Injury."

This video details the indicators of a Lisfranc injury based on foot symptoms, along with an explanation of the injury mechanism and primary pain locations. Lisfranc injuries can lead to persistent pain in around 60% of instances and are overlooked in at least 20% of cases. They are a significant contributor to enduring foot pain post-injury, and failure to diagnose the injury may elevate the risk of foot osteoarthritis or arch collapse.
